How did you start “name of business”? I just went simple with using my name,. Boudoir by Brittany Van Beek & Brittany Van Beek Photography. For this magazine, I wanted something strong, to the point as well as something that would stand out!
What do you do to keep yourself inspired: I give myself time to explore and create things I didn't know I had interest in.
How did you grow your business: Lots of online marketing, going door to door, and tons of word of mouth!
Do you have any mentors? Yes many!!! @Mattmathewsphotography @Jenrozenbaum @hugovphoto and so many more!
What do you recommend to someone getting started in the photography
industry and especially boudoir? Never let yourself feel intimated or scared! Boudoir is an amazing journey full of rewards! Always make sure you are having fun and creating something different not only for yourself but for your clients as well!
What is something you wish someone told you earlier about the photography industry? That there were hundreds and thousand of other photographers out there doing the same thing you are doing. Yet they weren't ME! That I have what it takes to create something special for someone and that its an amazing feeling to be able to meet and create with other artists!
Have you ever done your own boudoir session? If so how did it go? YES and I LOVED IT!! I do it at least once a year, and or whenever a friend wants to get together and get creative!
How do you prepare for each session? I always do my yoga in the morning to clear my head and stretch for the day and become center and calm. I make sure I have everything I need and that I am fully prepared and ready for the day/session to come! All gear, snacks, water, and good music is key for each session for me.
What are 3 things you would tell a photographer to have for a boudoir session? #1 Have Confidence #2 Have creativity and #3 have pride in your work!
